I have a Master’s degree in Counseling and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with the State of Michigan. I have over 25 years of experience as a former school counselor that included working with youth, staff, parents and other adults, as well as my supervising counselors in training over the years. I am also a Level One Trauma Trained specialist and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I am currently working toward my Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor designation. I have been working with MVA Behavioral Health Services Adrian Outpatient since 2020.
I have experience in providing both individual and group counseling sessions. Additionally, I have an extensive background in family and youth dynamics and development, parenting, trauma, and grief and loss. I look forward to meeting clients where they are in their recovery journey or for whatever reason that they walk through our doors. My goal is to create an environment where you will feel comfortable in sharing your thoughts, ideas, and feelings. Additionally, we will work together to establish treatment goals and use those as guidelines for our sessions. You may decide to make changes in your life, and our sessions may help you navigate the process of altering your physical, mental, and emotional patterns, relationships, and goals.
My community involvement includes being a member of our Lenawee Community Crisis Team since it started in 1998, a Volunteer trainer for Hospice of Lenawee, member of Sacred Heart Parish in Hudson, Member of LCSAPC (Lenawee County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition- Community and School community workgroup) former member of the Lenawee County Counselors Association, Former Coordinator of Lenawee County Career and College Network, Past Member of University of Michigan College Admissions Advisory Team, former member of Zonta.
Some of my favorite things to do in my free time include spending time with my seven grandchildren, reading, doing anything around water, swimming, or boating, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
