Residential Intake Coordinator

William Barrand

Biography

I have been employed at MVA Behavioral Health Services since 2022. I first started as a Resident Aide in our residential treatment program, Hope House. Now as the Residential Intake Coordinator I am the first point of contact with clients when they do screenings, I complete orientations with new inpatient and outpatient clients. Other job duties that I have are organizing and auditing residential client paperwork, case management tasks, and help support other staff in their rolls. This was my first job in this field, and I was nervous starting out. Now, I have learned that this is something I really want to make a career out of, and I am currently in the Social Work program at Eastern Michigan University to obtain my Bachelor’s of Social Work degree and have plans to continue on with a Master’s degree. I have an interest in helping people in with substance use disorders and mental health disorders, as well as exploring other populations in my study of social work.

In my free time I like to play video games, read, garden, and spend time with my fiancée. I also have an interest in in astronomy and history.
